The Spectrum building
Cleaning Bristol's landmark glass buildings
The spectrum building is a six-storey glazed office building located at the foot of the M32 in the center of Bristol. The beautiful glass façades of the building reflect the sky and its surroundings and it has become one of the city’s best known landmark buildings. Keeping these clean is a challenging task!
STP has been cleaning the multiple glass façades of this iconic building for more than eight years. We use three different methods of cleaning; abseiling, cherry pickers and our Reach & Wash® system as this allows us to deliver the most cost-effective solution to cleaning such a vast expanse of glass.
Cleaning is carried out on every three months and takes two weeks to complete from start to finish. We always work from the top down, this ensures that any water that might trickle down gets cleaned up when we work on level below. This ensures that we leave the windows clean and sparkling.
Health and safety - we have it covered
Health and safety is critical on this job, both when abseiling down the façade or using the cherry picker to reach high-up areas. We carry out more abseiling work in the Bristol area than any other window cleaning company and have an excellent track record of no accidents or incidents having occurred throughout our company's history. Our strict policies ensure that Health & Safety guidelines relating to high level work are always followed and we also constantly monitor and update our safety systems. Our abseil team are fully IRATA trained and qualified ( the industry recognised standard for rope work) plus our machine operators are IPAF trained.
